Lead AI Ethicist & Policy Advisor

You will play a critical role in shaping the ethical development and responsible deployment of artificial intelligence technologies across our organization. This position demands a deep understanding of AI principles, ethical frameworks, policy development, and regulatory landscapes. You will be instrumental in establishing and upholding ethical guidelines, conducting impact assessments, and advising on risk mitigation strategies related to AI. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and refine ethical guidelines and principles for AI research, development, and deployment. Conduct comprehensive ethical impact assessments for new AI initiatives and technologies. Advise product teams, engineers, and leadership on ethical considerations, potential risks, and mitigation strategies related to AI. Stay abreast of global AI regulations, policies, and best practices, translating them into actionable internal guidance. Engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and industry groups, to contribute to the broader AI ethics discourse. Develop educational materials and training programs to foster an ethical AI culture within the organization. Facilitate discussions and workshops on AI ethics topics, ensuring diverse perspectives are considered. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure AI systems align with ethical standards and regulatory requirements. Research emerging ethical challenges in AI, such as bias, fairness, transparency, accountability, and privacy. Contribute to the development of responsible AI frameworks and governance structures. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Philosophy, Ethics, Computer Science, Law, Public Policy, or a related discipline, with a specialization in AI ethics. Proven experience in developing and applying ethical frameworks, conducting policy analysis, or advising on technology ethics is essential. Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills are required, with the ability to articulate complex ethical concepts to diverse audiences.
