Academic Advisor and Student Success Coach
Our client, a renowned university, is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Academic Advisor and Student Success Coach to support students at their campus in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US . Responsibilities: Provide personalized academic advising to a caseload of undergraduate students, assisting with course selection, degree planning, and academic progress monitoring. Develop and implement strategies to promote student success, retention, and timely graduation. Coach students on developing effective study habits, time management skills, and goal-setting techniques. Connect students with relevant campus resources, including tutoring services, counseling, career services, and financial aid. Assist students in navigating university policies and procedures. Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as academic success strategies, career planning, and resource utilization. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in the university's student information system. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to address student needs and improve support services. Identify at-risk students and implement proactive intervention strategies. Stay informed about curriculum changes, program requirements, and university initiatives. Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in academic advising, student affairs, or coaching in a university setting. Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations and understanding their unique challenges. Knowledge of academic curricula, degree requirements, and university policies and procedures. Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in using student information systems (SIS) and other relevant technology. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student development. Willingness to work a hybrid schedule, balancing remote responsibilities with on-site engagement in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US .
