Accounts Payable Specialist
SpaceX is a company focused on developing technologies for human exploration of space. They are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide transactional support in a high-volume accounts payable department, which includes processing invoices and expense reports, and resolving discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Meet transaction targets in a high-volume accounts payable department
- Process and match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Respond to questions from vendors and internal departments in a timely manner
- Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies
- Provide support to the department by processing expense reports, maintaining Excel reports, importing, and exporting databases and files
- Payment coordination on a weekly basis
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ years of accounts payable, finance, or operations experience (internship experience qualifies)
- Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
- This position is based in Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles area), and requires being onsite full-time - hybrid and remote work will not be considered
- Strong motivation for automation and process improvement
- General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with Excel and MS Dynamics 365 or other ERP accounting systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with SQL
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
