Business Data Analyst at Logistics Services Startup

• *ABOUT THIS JOB:** This is the first hire of a new line of business/startup- we are looking for someone that can work in a fast-paced, growing, and changing environment. The core function of this role is to support logistics businesses in utilizing data to drive performance, peace of mind, profitability, and growth. This is an entry level to intermediate position with a clear path for growth in responsibility and compensation. Total Compensation will begin at around $50,000/yr. and will grow as your experience and responsibilities grow, as mentioned below. The end goal is that this role is a manager of multiple analysts. You will be creating and defining business processes that you will later teach to more analysts. Hours are roughly 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday but may vary with business needs. Must be located around Nashville, TN/La Vergne, TN. This position will be mostly remote but will require some in-person presence. You will complete your initial training (1-2 weeks) and approximately one day per week onsite/in person in Nashville, TN or La Vergne, TN. Training would be 1-2 weeks in person, after which you would work remotely most days depending on business need. This structure may change in the future. • *JOB REQUIREMENTS** · Relevant college degree or technical/online certification is strongly preferred. Outstanding candidates with neither may still be considered. · Must be able to demonstrate basicproficiency in mathematics- statistics, algebra, basic calculus, etc. Advanced mathematics is a plus but not necessary. · 1-2+ years in a similar role is preferred. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets is required. We will screen candidates in Excel as part of the interview process- do not apply if you are not willing and able to demonstrate proficiency in Excel as part of the interview process. This includes but is not limited to: o Pivot tables o Formulas such as VLookups/Index Match, HLookups, Sumifs, Countifs, etc o Conditional Formatting, Validations/Drop downs o Filtering o Graphs and presenting data · Advanced software- Tableau, Power BI, Splunk, etc. preferred · Knowledge or experience with coding, SQL, AI/”vibe coding”, etc. is a plus • *JOB DESCRIPTION:** This position will be primarily data analysis and communication, but also business development, and training then eventually managing future analysts/employees. Data Analysis Deep diving daily and weekly data pulls across multiple key business metrics for multiple accounts to · Identify trends to drive business decisions · Identify high and low performing employees to generate documented feedback for · Identify inaccurate data to correct, dispute, or ignore · Summarize and communicate key findings Business Development Work with existing and potential future clients to · Help obtain new clients and maintain existing clients through excellent service · Communicate findings, trends, recommendations, etc. professionally and effectively to customers and potential customers Recruiting and Training Help hire, develop, and eventually manage future analysts as number of customers and accounts and scope of work grows beyond your bandwidth. The end goal is that this role is a manager of multiple analysts.
