Remote Civil Litigation Paralegal for Boutique Business Law Firm
Job description A well-regarded, primarily federal practice litigation law firm seeks an paralegal who can work full-time remotely. 3+ years of experience with civil/business-related litigation is preferred.
The Law Firm The firm has 12 lawyers plus support staff, all working remotely from Seattle, Los Angeles, New York,
Pittsburgh, Maryland, and other locations. The lawyers and staff work closely together, relying heavily on Zoom. The working environment is casual and friendly, but the firm's employees take their work seriously.
The firm has active litigation cases across the nation, mostly in federal courts but also in various state courts.
The Paralegal Position The paralegal will support lawyers throughout the country and will be responsible for ECF and other court filings in many jurisdictions. The successful candidate will be experienced with federal and state court filings (ideally including in California and Washington) and comfortable with navigating civil procedure and local court rules. Other responsibilities will include:
• Format documents in Microsoft Word with strong attention to detail, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence
• Prepare subpoenas, deposition notices, and proposed orders
• Prepare discovery responses
• Engage in legal analysis, editing, and task/calendar management
• Help manage busy attorney calendars
• Docket court deadlines
• Review court rules for deadlines and formatting issues
• Coordinate meetings and teleconferences
• Manage client contact lists and client communications The Salary and Benefits The salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, likely in the $75,000 to $85,000 range. The firm offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

• 3+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate
• Federal ECF filing experience
• A positive attitude and friendly approach, even during hectic times

• Exceptional Microsoft Word skills, including ability to format litigation documents using Styles, Style
Sets, and document Themes
• Understanding of civil-litigation procedures
• The ability to read, understand, and strictly follow court rules from various jurisdictions
• Extraordinary attention to detail and deadline management
• Ability to self-start, manage several projects, and follow through without reminders
• Desire for variety in work, and frequent new challenges
• Some familiarity, expertise with, and/or interest in expanding skills with AI tools, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Zoom AI, Claude, CoPilot (and possibly others)
• Excellent communication skills
• Adobe Acrobat Pro experience
