About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our technical infrastructure group at arenaflex. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the systems that power everything our users see online. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of arenaflex systems, you will play a critical role in making our product portfolio possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Write and test product or system development code using C++ and other programming languages. You will be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code that meets our rigorous standards.
• Architecture and Design: Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to determine appropriate technologies for various projects. You will contribute to technical decision-making and help shape the architecture of our systems.
• Code Review and Quality: Review code developed by other developers and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices. This includes evaluating code for style, accuracy, testability, performance, and overall quality.
• Documentation: Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/application updates and user feedback. Clear and comprehensive documentation is essential for maintaining our systems.
• Problem Resolution: Triage product or system issues and debug/tune/resolve problems by identifying the root causes and understanding the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Infrastructure Development: Design and develop large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks. Work with computing, storage, or hardware architecture to build robust and efficient systems.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver outstanding user experiences.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers, contribute to technical strategy, and help drive the evolution of our engineering practices.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with software development in C++ and proficiency with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience with software development lifecycle, including exploring, maintaining, or launching software products.
• At least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with computing, storage, or hardware architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role, including mentoring junior developers or leading small teams.
• Experience developing accessible technologies and ensuring products are usable by people with diverse abilities.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and services.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, or mobile development.
• Experience with open-source technologies and contributing to open-source projects.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code review, and documentation.
