The Corporate Accounting team within Controllership handles critical financial processes, including general ledger management, intercompany transactions, related party reporting, and month-end close activities. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex accounting matters, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a tangible impact on arenaflex's financial operations.

What You Will Do

As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the overall financial accounting functions within our Corporate Accounting Group. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and driving process improvements. Here is a detailed breakdown of your key responsibilities:

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Take ownership of general ledger accounts and lead the month-end close process for corporate accounting functions
  • Prepare and review journal entries for intercompany eliminations, intercompany allocations, and related party transactions with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ensure all entries are accurate, properly supported, and comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Reconciliation & Variance Analysis

  • Design and execute reconciliation processes for key accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Perform comprehensive variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring follow-up
  • Document findings and provide actionable insights to management regarding financial discrepancies

Intercompany Accounting

  • Monitor intercompany accounts and proactively address any out-of-balance issues to maintain account integrity
  • Coordinate with intercompany payments teams to ensure timely and accurate settlement of intercompany balances
  • Partner with global business units to resolve intercompany discrepancies efficiently

Related Party Transactions

  • Track related party transactions throughout the financial year and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Perform valuation analyses to determine whether related party transactions are conducted at arm's length
  • Ensure compliance with related party disclosure requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Content Finance, Legal, and other parties within Controllership to obtain necessary supporting documentation
  • Work closely with the Manager, Financial Accounting – Corporate on ad hoc organization-wide initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business partners, providing guidance on accounting implications of business transactions

Financial Statement Preparation

  • Support the preparation of financial statements by creating financial schedules and references
  • Ensure financial data is accurately presented in accordance with regulatory and internal reporting requirements
  • Contribute to the development of standardized reporting templates and processes

Technical Accounting & Research

  • Research complex accounting questions and stay current with changes in US GAAP and industry standards
  • Prepare accounting memos to document changes in accounting treatment and ensure proper implementation
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and business partners on accounting matters

Audit Support

  • Assist in managing internal and external audits by responding to audit requests promptly and thoroughly
  • Prepare status updates and coordinate audit-related activities across departments
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed and resolved in a timely manner

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a solid foundation in corporate accounting or public accounting
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is essential for success in this role
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft business suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights
  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to Detail: Unwavering attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Team Orientation: A collaborative, team-oriented perspective with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in the entertainment, media, or technology industry is highly desirable
  • Background Diversity: A combination of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and private industry experience
  • ERP Systems: Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems
  • Professional Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is a strong plus
