We are hiring part-time tutors and teachers for the following subjects:
English, Math, Science, SAT/ACT, Chess, Foreign Language, History, Public Speaking, Debate, and Model UN
We work with students from elementary school through high school, depending on the subject. Some students need strong support with schoolwork and skill building. Others need advanced instruction, enrichment, or competition-level preparation.
We are looking for teachers who know their subject well, teach clearly, and can adjust to different student levels. For math and science, this includes both regular academic support and higher-level instruction for advanced students. For English, we are hiring teachers who can work across elementary through high school levels. For other subjects, we are looking for instructors with strong content knowledge and the ability to teach in a structured, effective way.
This role is for teachers who can deliver real results. That means building fundamentals where needed, pushing stronger students further when appropriate, and keeping lessons focused, organized, and productive.
Subjects We Are Hiring For
• English: elementary, middle school, and high school reading, writing, grammar, literature, and academic writing
• Math: regular school math, honors/AP math, advanced problem solving, and competition math
• Science: regular school science, honors/AP science, and advanced or competition-level preparation where applicable
• SAT/ACT: math, reading, writing, grammar, test strategy
• Chess: beginner through advanced instruction, tournament preparation, game analysis, strategy
• Foreign Language: tutoring based on language and level
• History: school support, reading comprehension, analytical writing, and test preparation
• Public Speaking: presentation skills, speech structure, delivery, confidence building
• Debate: argument structure, rebuttal, case preparation, speaking skills
• Model UN: research, position papers, speaking, conference preparation, procedure
Responsibilities
• Teach one-on-one or small-group lessons
• Support students in coursework, homework, exams, skill building, and enrichment
• Adjust instruction based on age, level, and goals
• Teach both foundational and advanced material as needed
• Prepare lessons and assign appropriate practice
• Track progress and communicate clearly with parents or program coordinators
• Show up on time, stay organized, and teach consistently
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge in at least one subject area
• Prior teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring experience preferred
• Ability to explain material clearly and teach in a structured way
• Reliable, professional, and responsive
• Comfortable working with different age groups and skill levels
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience teaching elementary through high school students
• Experience with honors, AP, gifted, or competition-level students
• Strong results in tutoring, coaching, or classroom teaching
• Background in competition math, science Olympiad, debate, chess, or other academic competitions
• Strong SAT/ACT teaching experience
• Ability to teach more than one subject
Ideal Candidates
We want teachers who are solid on content and clear in instruction. They should be able to help a student who is behind, a student who is on track, and a student who needs more challenge. They should be practical, dependable, and able to run effective lessons without wasting time.
Pay: $22.00 - $40.00 per hour
