Medical Coder | CPC

About the position Vaco is working with a great company looking to add a new Medical Coder to their Louisville, KY team for a short term project! Making sure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations. Complying with medical coding guidelines and policies. Receiving and reviewing patients' charts and documents for verification and accuracy. Following up and clarifying any information that is not clear to other staff members. Collecting information made by the Physician from different sources to prepare monthly reports. Implementing strategic procedures and choosing strategies and evaluation methods that provide correct results. Examining any medical malpractice that has been reported by analyzing and identifying the medical procedures, diagnoses or events that lead to the negligence. Responsibilities • Assign codes correctly and sequence them appropriately as per government and insurance regulations. • Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies. • Receive and review patients' charts and documents for verification and accuracy. • Follow up and clarify any unclear information with other staff members. • Collect information from Physicians to prepare monthly reports. • Implement strategic procedures and evaluation methods for accurate results. • Examine reported medical malpractice by analyzing medical procedures, diagnoses, or events. Requirements • 1-3 years of Medical Coding Experience • CPC Certification • eClinicalWorks (ecw) Experience • Primary Care experience • Must be in EST time zone • M-F 8-5 hours Apply tot his job Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
