Their mission is to provide a more ethical and responsible alternative to Big Tech, helping people everywhere reclaim control of their digital lives.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h1><strong>The Opportunity</strong></h1><p style="min-height:1.5em">Launched from scratch, Proton’s YouTube channel has already grown to 40K subscribers, 1.2M views, and 10M brand impressions, and is quickly becoming a trusted voice in the privacy-first movement.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">As Video Editor, you’ll be the creative engine behind Proton’s YouTube videos, crafting complex cybersecurity and privacy topics into accessible, compelling, and visually dynamic stories. From raw footage to polished publish-ready content, you’ll own the post-production pipeline and set the bar for quality, pacing, and audience-first storytelling.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">You’ll collaborate closely with Proton’s Video Producer and Snowball’s YouTube growth experts (who’ve scaled channels to 27M+ subscribers and 10B+ views) to push creative boundaries and ensure Proton’s channel delivers high-value content that resonates globally.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h1><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h1><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Edit and deliver long-form YouTube videos that bring Proton’s mission and products to life.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Transform raw footage into polished, engaging stories through expert use of pacing, sound, graphics, and motion.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Develop repeatable editing systems and templates to streamline production.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborate with producers, creatives, and Proton’s marketing/product teams to align edits with brand voice and strategic goals.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experiment with new storytelling styles, graphics packages, and editing techniques to keep content fresh and audience-driven.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Implement feedback quickly and continuously refine content based on YouTube performance data.<br></p></li></ul><h1><strong>Who You Are</strong></h1><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">5+ years editing for YouTube-first or digital-first content, with a strong portfolio showcasing documentary-style, educational, or edutainment formats.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">A master of pacing, narrative structure, and visual storytelling that keeps audiences engaged.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong technical expertise in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Passionate about digital freedom and technology, with the ability to make technical topics visually compelling.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Highly organized, efficient, and proactive, able to manage multiple edits in a fast-paced environment.<br></p></li></ul><h1><strong>Bonus Points If You</strong></h1><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Have created repeatable editing systems or style guides for YouTube channels.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Have motion graphics or animation skills to enhance storytelling.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Have worked with tech, SaaS, or cybersecurity brands.<br></p></li></ul>
