If you have the qualities and drive to lead yourself or teams, there are roles ready to cultivate your skills and take you to the next level.<br><br><b>Job Description:</b><br><br>The Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Supervisor is responsible for safeguarding UPS assets, including buildings, equipment, and grounds, while ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and labour regulations. This role involves overseeing facility maintenance, housekeeping, and conveyor system reliability. This includes the oversight and management of both unionized and non-unionized employees who will directly report to them. The BaSE Supervisor also manages construction projects, ensures adherence to UPS building standards, and provides technical and regulatory expertise across multiple domains.<br><br><strong><b>Job Type: </b>Full-time, Permanent</strong><br><strong><b>Work Location: </b> 19088 38th Avenue, Surrey, BC V3S 0P6, Canada</strong><br><strong><b>Workdays: </b>Monday through Friday</strong><br><strong><b>Shift Hours: </b>3:00 PM to 11:30 PM</strong><br><br><strong><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></strong><br><br><b>Facility Maintenance & Compliance:</b><br><ul><li>Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and labour compliance across the automated hub</li><li>Ensure adherence to UPS Hazardous Materials Procedures and international/national regulations for transporting regulated goods (e.g., hazardous materials, tobacco, alcohol)</li><li>Conduct audits, facilitate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and deliver employee training on compliance requirements</li><li>Ensure regularly scheduled maintenance is completed in a timely and effective manner, and all deficiencies are corrected</li><li>Oversee invoicing and manage costs for planned and emergency maintenance</li></ul><br><br><strong><b>Environmental & Safety Compliance:</b></strong><br><ul><li>Monitor district-level environmental and safety compliance for the automated hub</li><li>Review facility regulations, perform audits, and analyze trends to address compliance issues</li></ul><br><br><strong><b>Conveyor Reliability:</b></strong><br><ul><li>Manage mechanic dispatch for scheduled maintenance as well as emergency repairs</li><li>Maintain an accurate record of the facilities inventory through CMMS</li><li>Provide hands-on and remote support for conveyor or equipment-related breakdowns and issues that arise during operations.</li><li>Generate reports outlining overall system effectiveness and reliability</li></ul><br><br><strong><b>Technical Support:</b></strong><br><ul><li>Provide guidance to Plant Engineering Information Systems (PEIS) personnel and users.</li><li>Maintain and update documentation for UPS building standards and specifications.</li></ul><br><br><strong><b>Construction Project Management:</b></strong><br><ul><li>Manage low to moderately complex construction projects, such as conveyor installations and facility modifications.</li><li>Ensure projects adhere to contract documentation, timelines, and cost control measures.</li><li>Provide drafting and web support services for construction documentation.</li></ul><br><br><strong><b>Qualifications:</b></strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.</li><li>Knowledge of facility maintenance and conveyor systems.</li><li>Familiarity with hazardous materials procedures and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Proficiency in software and hardware development and deployment.</li><li>Experience managing construction projects and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Exposure to/Understanding of Automation in some regards, preferably in relation to conveyance, sortation, and building systems</li></ul><br><br><strong><b>Additional Skills:</b></strong><br><ul><li>Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations at the district level.</li><li>Experience with drafting, designing layouts, and maintaining technical documentation.</li></ul><br><br>UPS is a diverse and equal opportunity employer.
