Interior Designer – American Heritage Boutique Hospitality
We are seeking a design consultant to refine and elevate the interiors of a boutique inn in New England inspired by the fictional naturalist Abigail Wilder. The aesthetic blends early-1900s American heritage, White Mountains exploration, field-journal storytelling, and understated rustic elegance.
This is a stylistic refinement role — not a full renovation. We are looking for a designer who can bring cohesion, authenticity, and historical depth to an existing property.
Responsibilities:
• Curate and source furniture, decor, lighting, textiles, and wall details
• Refine color palettes and materials to reflect American heritage design
• Recommend specific purchasable items (retail-ready sourcing)
• Develop mood boards and room-by-room styling direction
• Ensure all design decisions align with the Abigail Wilder narrative
Ideal Experience:
• Boutique hospitality or experiential lodging projects
• American heritage / folk / early 1900s design language
• Story-driven environments or brand-integrated interiors
• Strong sourcing ability within defined budgets
This is a short-term consulting engagement with potential for continued collaboration as the property evolves.
