ESL Curriculum Developer – Grade 8 Textbook (Canva Expert) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced ESL curriculum developer to complete the final three units of our Grade 8 Student Textbook. We are currently completing the Grade 6 and Grade 7 textbooks. You will take full ownership of Grade 8. This is a focused, standalone project with a firm deadline. All work must be designed and finalized in Canva based on provided templates. ________________________________________ Project Scope: Grade 8 Textbook: •Unit 1 is complete. • Units 2, 3, and 4 need to be developed. • Total: 3 Textbook units. • Deadline: March 20th. ________________________________________ For Each Unit You Will Receive: • 2 core reading passages (thematic foundation for the unit). • General guidelines and suggested activity types. • Canva completed Unit 1 example to follow for style, format, and complexity. ________________________________________ Your Key Responsibilities: For each assigned unit: 1. Pedagogical Design: Using the provided readings, design the core lesson flow and original activities appropriate for middle school ESL learners (e.g., vocabulary in context, reading comprehension, discussion prompts, guided writing tasks). 2. Content Writing: Write all instructional text, activity instructions, and a complete teacher answer key. 3. Canva Production: Professionally format and design all content within the provided Canva textbook template, ensuring visual consistency with completed Unit 1. 4. Quality Assurance: Deliver polished, error-free, print-ready materials. ________________________________________ Essential Qualifications (Non-Negotiable): • Professional ESL/EFL teaching experience at the middle school or secondary level. • Proven experience in ESL curriculum development and original material writing. • Expert proficiency in Canva for multi-page educational document design. • Ability to work independently, exercise sound pedagogical judgment, and require minimal revision. • Proven ability to meet firm deadlines. ________________________________________ Project & Payment Details: • Fixed-price project for 3 Textbook units.
