Accountant I
BAE Systems is an international defense, aerospace, and security company that provides a full range of products and services. The Accountant I role involves conducting collections calls, researching accounts receivable issues, and coordinating with internal organizations on collection issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct collections calls to various pay offices
- Research accounts receivable issues
- Coordinate with internal organizations (e.g., Contracts) on collection issues
- Run various required monthly reports as needed
- Provide status updates as needed
- Attend Accounts Receivable meetings
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Perform other duties as necessary
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
- Solid customer service skills
- Cash collections or accounts receivable experience
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Excel experience
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 1 or more years collections or accounts receivable experience
- Government contracting experience
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Experience with WAWF/MyINVOICE
- Experience with pay.gov
