Non-Financial Risk - Director
About the position
We are seeking a Director - Non-Financial Risk Management to lead ING's efforts in identifying, assessing, and mitigating non-financial risks, ensuring compliance with Federal Reserve (Fed) and New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) regulations. This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented leader who can work independently while fostering strong teamwork and collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing ING's non-financial risk management ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Experience working in FBO (Foreign Bank Office) is key. Responsibilities
• Support 1st LoD to Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to people, processes and systems.
• Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive non-financial risk management framework in compliance with Fed and NYDFS regulations.
• Ensure ING meets all non-financial risk regulatory requirements from the Fed, NYDFS, and other relevant authorities.
• Oversee the development of risk policies, procedures, and internal controls to align with regulatory expectations.
• Monitor emerging risks and regulatory developments, ensuring proactive risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead risk assessments and scenario analysis to evaluate potential exposures.
• Work cross-functionally with business units, compliance, and internal audit teams to drive risk management initiatives.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in non-financial risk management within banking (FBO) or financial institution.
• In-depth knowledge of Fed and NYDFS regulations related to operational and enterprise risk.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive risk initiatives.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership abilities.
