Through organizing, storytelling, culture work, and political education, we strengthen community and fight for the world our people deserve.
SnapCo. is seeking a Digital Organizer & Content Creator who can manage our social media strategy, create compelling content, and engage our online community through a digital organizing lens.
Postion Overview:
The Digital Organizer & Content Creator expands SnapCo.’s digital presence, deepens relationships with our online community, and converts digital engagement into powerful real-world action and membership.
The Digital Organizer will:
• Plan and manage SnapCo.’s social media schedule
• Create high-quality digital content (graphics + short form video/reels)
• Engage followers and build relationships
• Use social media as an organizing tool to move people toward membership, action, and deeper involvement
• Manage SnapCo.’s social media platforms, primarily Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube.
Primary Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Planning
• Develop and maintain a consistent social media content calendar aligned with SnapCo.’s organizing goals
• Plan monthly and weekly digital strategy that supports political education, storytelling, base building, and membership engagement
• Write mission-aligned captions and calls to action for all scheduled posts
• Analyze trends, engagement metrics, and platform performance to refine strategy
Social Media Management & Engagement
• Post and schedule content across SnapCo.’s primary platforms: Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
• Utilize Hootsuite for content scheduling, planning, and performance monitoring
• Maintain daily engagement by responding to comments, direct messages, story mentions, and tags across platforms
• Run DM-based welcome series and soft outreach workflows to help onboard new followers into SnapCo.’s ecosystem
• Provide live or near-live social media coverage for SnapCo. events, actions, and community programs
• Track engagement to help identify highly involved supporters who may become members or volunteers
Content Creation (Graphic Design & Video Production)
• Create visually compelling social media graphics, carousels, flyers, and promotional materials using Canva
• Produce short-form video content for Instagram Reels, including filming, editing, and collaborating with staff and community members
• Appear on camera to support storytelling, updates, and organizational messaging
• Capture event footage at SnapCo. programs, actions, and gatherings
• Edit videos using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or comparable software
• Ensure all content meets accessibility standards (captions, alt text, plain language)
Community Engagement & Digital Organizing
• Build authentic relationships with followers through intentional online engagement
• Support recruitment into membership and leadership pipelines through digital touch points
• Respond to community questions, redirect individuals to SnapCo. resources, and surface urgent inquiries to the Communications team
• Promote petitions, events, and real-world organizing opportunities through strategic calls to action
• Assist in storytelling and narrative shift work that uplifts Black trans and queer experience
Research & Trend Analysis
• Identify relevant topics, social media trends, and cultural moments that strengthen digital storytelling
• Conduct research to support political education content and community narratives
• Make recommendations for new formats, series, and content ideas
Team Support & Collaboration
• Attend weekly team meetings and check-ins with the Director of Communications
• Collaborate with Membership, Campaigns, and Community Defense teams to support cross-departmental needs
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and content development work
• Support the Communications department in rapid-response organizing moments
Qualifications
• Experience in social media management (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)
• Demonstrated experience in graphic design (Canva required)
• Demonstrated experience creating and editing short-form video content
• Ability to appear on camera and direct others on camera
• Experience writing compelling captions and messages with clear calls to action
• Strong understanding of digital engagement and community-centered communication
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong cultural competency with Black, trans, queer, and Southern communities
• Highly motivated to end the criminalization of Black trans and queer people in Georgia
• Commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice
Knowledge & Skills
• Organized, creative, self-directed, and team-oriented
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Experience navigating conflict or tension in digital environments with care
• Commitment to trauma-informed and anti-carceral approaches
• Willingness to enter a 90-day probationary period before permanent employment; if affirming for both parties, willingness to make a 1–2 year commitment
Salary
This is a part-time position within the range of $28,000–$32,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
