Variety: Motion Designer / Video Editor

About the position Variety is looking for a Motion Designer / Editor to bring deep postproduction expertise to Variety's Editorial Video operation. This individual should live and breathe entertainment news, understand Hollywood and its history, as well as the current trends in the industry. The Motion Designer / Video Editor will primarily edit episodes of Variety's ongoing series, define Variety's graphics style on video, and ideate and launch concepts that utilize graphics as the main vehicle for storytelling. One day could be spent designing a graphics template for Variety's 'Directors on Directors,' the next could be editing a 'Know Their Lines' video, and the third could be creating a graphical explainer about the box office. The role will report to Variety's Head of Video. As Variety values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
