Software Engineer I

Vertafore is a leading technology company advancing the insurance industry with innovative software solutions. They are seeking a Software Engineer I to create products using state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring successful releases while participating in the design, development, and debugging of applications.

Responsibilities

• Writes well-designed, testable code
• Participates in the design, development, testing, and debugging of an application
• Troubleshoots and ensures timely and effective resolutions of any project issue
• Participates in code reviews, both of your own code and as a reviewer
• Provides feedback and suggestions for process and product improvement
• Conducts technical research on new technology for possible new aspects of a product or components needing redesign or updating
• Prepares product documentation, support materials, and internal documentation
• Shares what they know by reaching out to other team members

Skills

• No Experience Required
• Proficient in popular coding languages and frameworks and systems
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development methodologies
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases helpful
• Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis
• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds
• Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.)
• Frequent sitting and/or standing
