Actuarial Analyst - Recent Graduate

Responsibilities

  • Research actuarial issues, methods and solutions to support business strategy development
  • Provide support to junior team members to aid in development of the team
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of actuarial programs
  • Contribute to projects that enhance the teams actuarial capabilities and business outcomes
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and patterns within large data sets

Skills

  • Nearing completion of your education in a relevant program such as actuarial sciences, math, finance, economics or statistics
  • Advanced mathematical and programming skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven research, analysis and decision-making skills
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions
  • Organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing software
  • Language proficiency in English is required for communicating with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada
  • Completion of a minimum of two exams through the Society of Actuaries or Canadian Institute of Actuaries
  • Commitment to attain Associate designation through the Society of Actuaries and/or Canadian Institute of Actuaries and continuing professional development to support career progression and role competency in sustaining the company's pool of actuarial resources
