Junior Accountant (HYBRID)

Care Compass Network is seeking a Junior Accountant to support their financial needs by performing various accounting functions. The role involves recording transactions, assisting in financial audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with the accurate and timely recording of daily financial transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Assist in the preparation of routine financial reports by compiling, validating, and organizing financial data
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Cross-train with other Finance team members to build functional knowledge, provide backup coverage, and support team continuity
  • Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting deadlines
  • Support year-end external audits by preparing schedules, responding to audit requests, and maintaining organized documentation
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and monthly journal entries
  • Provide accounting support for Care Compass's Business Solutions Services, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely processing in collaboration with external partners

Skills

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum of 1 year of financial experience including as a junior accountant, bookkeeper or similar position, with expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • OR 3 years experience as a junior accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position, with expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S
  • Applicant must reside within a 2-hour radius of our home office in Binghamton NY
  • Experience with other financial tools such as QuickBooks
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to generate and interpret data and reports
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the accounting function
