Job Overview

As a Remote Benefits Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing expert guidance on health and welfare benefits, pension plans, and other related topics. Your primary goal will be to build strong relationships with our customers, identify their needs, and exceed their expectations through timely, accurate, and respectful communication. You will work remotely, with occasional on-site meetings and training sessions, and will be required to maintain the highest level of professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quickly build rapport with customers and respond to their inquiries in a compassionate and personalized manner, via phone, email, and instant message
  • Customize your customer service approach to meet the diverse needs and communication styles of our customers, while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions
  • Handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion, in accordance with HIPAA and Data Privacy laws, as well as arenaflex's data security requirements
  • Translate complex health and welfare benefits, pension terms, and plan information into simple explanations and instructions that customers can understand and act upon
  • Read and understand client plan documents and online knowledgebase tools, collecting relevant information to determine immediate requests and anticipate future needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues, provide feedback, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our customer service processes

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that demonstrate your ability to provide exceptional customer service and support. The following requirements and qualifications are essential:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in customer service, call center, or a related field is preferred, although we welcome candidates with various backgrounds and experience levels
  • English speaking candidates are required, although bilingual candidates (Spanish or French) are highly preferred and will receive additional compensation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with varying schedules and priorities, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the health and welfare benefits administration industry, or a related field
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and Data Privacy laws, as well as data security requirements and best practices
