TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER (CIVIL)

Caltrans District 3 is seeking a Transportation Engineer (Civil) to join their team in Sacramento. The role involves conducting hydraulic studies and preparing reports related to infrastructure encroachments into waterways, while also providing leadership over engineering personnel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydraulic studies and prepare written reports, models, maps, charts and graphs for rivers, canals and floodways where Caltrans or local agency infrastructures encroach into waterways
• Function as a lead person over the activities of various engineering and technical personnel
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned
• Participate in a standardized process that systematically engages newly hired engineers
• Develop well-rounded project delivery knowledge, skills, and abilities by rotating through diverse project delivery functional units
• May be required to go on loan to another project delivery function when there are temporary or peak staffing needs in those areas

• Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers

• SOQ Must Be Typed And No More Than 2- Pages, Single-spaced, Using 12-point Font
