Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Published Bioinformatician to design and create bioinformatics benchmark tasks using scientific datasets. The role involves developing workflows for AI models and collaborating with research teams to ensure alignment with bioinformatics practices. Responsibilities • Design and create real-world bioinformatics benchmark tasks using published scientific datasets • Develop workflows that test an AI model’s ability to autonomously analyze raw sequencing data from natural language prompts • Translate complex biological questions into structured, reproducible computational workflows • Apply rigorous scientific reasoning to evaluate tool usage, workflow correctness, and biological validity • Collaborate with research teams to refine benchmark design and ensure alignment with real-world bioinformatics practices Skills • Current graduate student (M.S. or Ph.D.) or holder of an advanced degree (e.g., Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Scientist) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related quantitative field • Recent authorship of a bioinformatics paper published in 2024 or later (biorxiv or arxiv acceptable) • Published work must include publicly available sequencing data (e.g., SRA or stable author-provided URL) • Demonstrated use of at least three command-line bioinformatics tools in the published work • Strong attention to detail with rigorous analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities • Ability to work independently on research-driven, technically complex tasks Company Overview • At Crossing Hurdles, we specialise in customised recruitment and staffing solutions designed to drive success for businesses and professionals.
