Remote Tax Preparer (1099 Independent Contractor – PTIN Required)

Prime Wealth Financial & Tax Services is seeking PTIN holders interested in preparing tax returns under an established ERO for the upcoming tax season. This role is not a W-2 position and is not hourly. It is designed for preparers who want flexibility, experience, and oversight while operating as independent contractors. Position Type • Independent Contractor (1099-NEC) • Seasonal / Remote • Flexible workload (not hourly) Key Responsibilities • Prepare federal and state tax returns using firm-provided software • Maintain an active PTIN and follow IRS compliance standards • Source and manage your own tax clients • Submit returns for review and approval under ERO oversight • Maintain accurate records and follow firm procedures Important Role Expectations (Please Read Carefully) • You are responsible for finding your own clients • This is not an hourly or W-2 role • No clients are provided • No guaranteed income or minimum workload • Compensation is based on returns prepared (1099-NEC) What the Firm Provides • Tax software access • ERO oversight and return review • Training and preparation guidance • Compliance support and procedures • Structured process under an established EFIN Qualifications • Active or pending PTIN (must be obtained before preparing returns) • Willingness to operate as an independent contractor • Ability to work remotely and manage your own client base • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow compliance standards • Prior tax prep experience helpful but not required This Role Is a Good Fit If You Are • Building experience as a tax preparer • Looking for flexibility, not fixed hours • Comfortable sourcing your own clients • Interested in working under ERO oversight while remaining compliant This Role Is NOT a Good Fit If You Are Looking For • W-2 employment • Guaranteed hours or hourly pay • Firm-provided clients • A call-center or employee-style role Apply only if you understand and agree to the independent contractor structure.
