Job Overview

The Customer Site Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and smooth execution of construction activities for our Jenbacher Engine business. This position requires a unique blend of technical, commercial, and project management skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in site management for power plant execution, including material management, and a strong understanding of our products and plant components. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation of schedules and track deadlines, including highlighting time-critical processes and developing acceleration measures, in close coordination with project management, the scheduler, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Plan resources for the timely and deadline-oriented implementation of the execution phase, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available when needed.
  • Manage and supervise assembly activities, including regular execution progress checks and reporting to the project manager, to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation and correspondence, including delivery notes, measurement protocols, assembly protocols, approvals, and other relevant documents.
  • Oversee material management on the execution site, as well as in interim or customer storage areas, to ensure that all materials are properly stored and handled.
  • Monitor and enforce construction site safety in close coordination with the client's safety and health coordinator (EHS), ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and that the site is safe for all personnel.
  • Provide site equipment, such as forklifts, work platforms, scaffolding, tools, and consumables, and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and operated.
  • Verify readiness for installation, inspect access routes, check storage areas, examine and approve foundations, and measure installation positions to ensure that all preparations are complete.
  • Supervise and monitor the positioning of engine and BOP parts, including fine positioning and alignment of BOP parts with each other, and final assembly of internal piping and wiring.
  • Monitor the professional and timely implementation of the scope of services and supplies by subcontractors, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Supervise and monitor the establishment of commissioning readiness of plant components and systems, including ensuring the proper cleaning of plant components, leak testing, and pressure testing.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities, including customer meetings, in close collaboration with the commissioning team, to ensure a smooth and successful commissioning process.

Qualification Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or a related field.
  • Commercial and business management understanding, with experience in site management for power plant execution, including material management.
  • Experience with products from blithequark and plant components, including Jenbacher engines.
  • A performance-oriented personality, with a strong ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels, from construction site personnel to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent English skills (writing and speaking), with additional language skills being an advantage.
  • A strong ability to work independently, with a self-starter mentality and a willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 90%.
