Principal Security Architect AI Focused - Remote EST Hours

We are hiring Principal Security Architect AI Focused - Remote EST Hours for a Contract To Hire position in Hartford, CT Role Summary This Principal Security Architecture position requires expertise in AI and ML security, including Model Context Protocol (MCP), LLM application security, data protection and governance, and identity-aware API patterns. This role will help to ensure AI implementations across the enterprise align with global security architecture security requirements, design patterns and frameworks. While enabling innovation and speed to market. Responsibilities Provide strategic and technical security direction for AI and ML programs and projects. Maintain and expand the security architecture documentation library, ensuring consistency across requirements documents, frameworks components and design artifacts. Work directly with program and project teams to ensure that relevant security risks are identified, evaluated, and appropriate security solutions are implemented to manage risks to the enterprise. Responsible for the identification of architectural gaps and inefficiencies in new and existing solutions; support remediation and mitigation efforts through appropriate planning and roadmap development. Partner with AI teams and maintain an understanding of services and capabilities delivered to the enterprise. Represent Global Security Architecture as a member of various Centers of Enablement and other working groups, assisting in the development and approval of secure by design solutions. Demonstrated ability to turn emerging risks (e.g., grounding/classification issues) into actionable controls and rollout plans. Strong work ethic and sense of urgency Ability to influence technical discussions and decisions. Mentor architects and others in AI Security best practices and architectural approaches Required Qualifications Deep experience in security architecture for AI/ML platforms Demonstrated expertise in cloud security architecture Demonstrated depth in two or more security domains such as: API security, identity protocols, secrets platforms, data security. Strong understanding of AI regulations, AI Security frameworks, and emerging AI assurance standards. 7+ years experience in information technology experience 3+ years experience in an information security architectural role, strong writing and communication skills expected. BA/BS degree in MIS/Computer Science or related degree required. Professional Certification such as: SANS GIAC Certification(s) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Preferred Qualifications Experience with MCP concepts (capability registry, tool adapters, broker patterns), policy-as-code, and E5 Purview/equivalent DLP/classification. Familiarity with Security life cycle, design review across concept, development through deployment Experience with threat models (all 7 layers), security analysis GIAC GDSA, CCSP, SABSA or equivalent; AI related certs a plus. Core Competencies Communicate clearly in writing and verbally; influence cross-functional teams and executives; execute autonomously and manage time effectively. Produce consumable technical docs (security requirement documents, security design patterns, reference architectures) and present recommendations to diverse audiences.
