Remote "Front Desk" Legal Assistant

About us The Law Offices of Evan M. Rosen is a small law firm that's focused on service. Whenever faced with a difficult situation, we always ask ourselves how we would want the issue handled if it was our case. From there, the best decision is often quickly reached. We are very detail-oriented professionals who serve others in their pursuit of happiness—helping them with estate planning, mortgage foreclosure defense, real estate closings, probate and trust administration, and accidents and injuries. The Position We are seeking a remote "front desk" assistant who is fluent in Spanish and English to help serve clients in our practice areas. This person will answer phones, screen potential new cases, open new files across our systems, process mail and e-service, and conduct regular multi-system reconciliations to make sure all our cases are correctly reflected in our software. The position is listed as part-time but some days will be full-time. We'd like this person to be on standby so even if they are clocked out during office hours, they will still remain available to dive into a call. (Of course, if you are out on a pre-arranged absence, you would not need to cover the phone.) All our software is cloud-based, including our VOIP phone system, so handling work while out is doable as long as you have a decent laptop and internet connection. The position is remote. We have conference facilities that we use as needed. Otherwise, we work from home or on the road. Required experience: None. Computer skills: Word, Excel, Gmail, Adobe Acrobat, Florida's E-Filing Portal, Clio, Accuair, and all South Florida official county records and court websites. We want to do all we can to increase the odds that our employment relationships will be as successful and healthy as possible. We also respect and value other people's time. Compensation is negotiable, based upon experience and is subject to review after 180 days. We pay the members of our firm on a bi-monthly basis on the 11th and 26th of every month.
