What Will I be Doing? The Manager Data Engineering is responsible for supervising the health, stability and accuracy of data systems. The Manager will work closely with other groups in IT to ensure data systems meet business requirements for system availability and accuracy. The role will provide leadership and guidance to a team focused on data platform health and quality including database performance optimization and reviews, regular capacity reviews, as well as data stewardship and governance tasks across the enterprises line-of-business applications and analytical platforms. The Manager Data Engineering is responsible for driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Leadership and Influence • Provide technical and professional leadership to Data Operations teams, developing the team's overall ability to respond to and prevent system interruptions and detect data quality issues. • Maintain healthy engagement with other technical and non-technical departments to provide right-sized data solutions for business and technology needs. Strategy and Execution • Provide guidance to the enterprise for data collection, storage, performance, integrity and security solutions. • Consult with infrastructure, operations, and business teams to ensure data systems meet operational standards and SLAs. • Work with Data Engineers, Architects and Infrastructure teams to create and maintain a holistic view of enterprise information system health, accuracy, security and compliance posture. • Develop and maintain reference architecture for data systems and information flow within the organization and between external data partners. • Develop and maintain processes and tools to continuously monitor the overall health of the data platforms • Ensure that data systems meet or exceed necessary compliance and regulatory requirements. To fulfill this role successfully, you possess the following minimum qualifications and experience: • 5-7 Years related experience • BA/BS/Bachelor's degree • 5+ Years Managerial experience • Familiarity with on-premise and cloud based data ecosystems and tools, including Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) models. • Familiarity with data modeling principals for transactional and analytical workloads. • Familiarity with database performance monitoring tools. • Familiarity with data privacy and protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, SOX, PCI, etc.) • Familiarity with data product Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) • Ability to manage team projects. • Excellent communications skills. • Excellent analytical and technical skills. • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
