Job Overview

This is a full-remote opportunity available to candidates based in the United States. As a Sr Director at blithequark, you will serve as a strategic leader for our Customer and Marketing organization, overseeing the workflow across teams of product, engineering, analytics, and user experience design resources. Your primary responsibility will be to own and author business reviews of the team roadmap, manage priorities against capacity to deliver results, and drive a positive, high-energy, results-oriented culture across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the long-term vision of a data product portfolio or strategic capability that drives strategies, requirements, and roadmaps, understanding the competitive landscape and directly influencing the enterprise in how it makes portfolio-specific decisions.
  • Own and lead the customer, loyalty, and marketing data ecosystem, serving the customer and marketing organization with actionable analytics to support delivering top-line sales and productivity improvements.
  • Develop a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging two-way door initiatives that address customer needs.
  • Own annual planning for the product portfolio and represent the team in discussions with executives.
  • Own the user experience (UX) and set the direction for the UX design of products within the product portfolio or strategic capability.
  • Define processes and measurements for the team to effectively track development work and triage bugs of products in the product portfolio.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders and lead and own the development of launch and go-to-market plans of products within the product portfolio or strategic capability.
  • Identify issues and blockers that may delay the launch or impede the success of products in the product portfolio or strategic capability, communicate to leadership, assess alternatives to resolve, and take action to resolve.
  • Ensure customer and business goals remain aligned with identified customer needs, set the strategy for customer engagement, and lead its execution.
  • Engage with internal and external thought leaders to drive product leadership within the portfolio.
  • Lead and own operational product strategy of the portfolio or strategic capability and ensure alignment with other portfolio owners.
  • Facilitate an understanding among the team of broader organizational goals and the role each team plays, audit team goals, and be accountable for product portfolio performance against broader organizational goals.
  • Lead a team in support of achieving the company's mission, manage performance, and foster an inclusive environment to help associates achieve their potential.
  • Leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision-making, assess the health and effectiveness of assigned products and related P&L impacts, and deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and present communications, frequently to senior leadership, communicating the desired message, at the appropriate level, for the right recipient.
  • Monitor technology trends and anticipate their impact on the product roadmap, leveraging this understanding to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with the broader product and technology management community to understand dependencies and create a community of practice.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 12 years of experience in software engineering, data science, and/or product management.
  • 7 years of direct team leadership experience across software engineering, product management, or data science.
  • Prior experience in marketing, customer, and retail media networks analytics, building, deploying, and operationalizing highly scalable, resilient, and critical data technology solutions solving business problems in a product model.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working with software development teams to launch online products.
  • Experience with large-scale order management and inventory systems.
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems.
  • Master's degree in business administration or similar advanced degree.
