Our small parcel division identifies billing errors and service failures within FedEx and UPS invoices, recovering refunds and optimizing client discounts. About the Role: We’re seeking a Small Parcel Expert with deep experience in FedEx and UPS billing, rate agreements, and contract optimization. You’ll work closely with our automation and analytics team to validate rate logic, analyze customer invoices, and identify opportunities for savings or credit recovery. Key Responsibilities: • Lead FedEx and UPS contract negotiations, using data modeling to drive improved discounts and terms. • Analyze carrier proposals and prepare detailed counterproposals aligned to shipment profiles and spend tiers. • Develop custom pricing models that reflect true landed cost across zones, weights, and service types. • Maintain benchmark data to identify underperforming contracts and potential optimization areas. • Collaborate with leadership to advise clients on timing and leverage points for renegotiation cycles. • Work cross-functionally with your analytics team to validate savings projections and rate impact scenarios. Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years directly negotiating FedEx or UPS contracts (either on shipper or carrier side). • Expert-level understanding of: • Base and earned discounts • Minimum charge application • DIM weight and divisor adjustments • Accessorial and surcharge optimization • Contract renewal and portfolio management • Strong Excel modeling or SQL ability for rate impact analysis. • Ability to interpret pricing agreements, not just invoices. • Excellent communication and negotiation presence, must be comfortable leading high-stakes conversations with carrier reps. Nice to Have: • Experience with auditing software or automated reporting platforms. • Exposure to LTL or freight auditing. • Understanding of SaaS-based analytics or reporting tools.
