<strong>Description<br><br></strong>The Amazon Communications team is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and savvy PR/Communications professional for the role of Public Relations Manager, Amazon Haul. The person who fills this role will be responsible for proactive PR activities in support of emerging products and services within the Selling Partner Services (SPS) organization, supporting business areas including seller experience, Amazon Haul, and more. This role will work closely with business partners and senior leaders to provide PR counsel and guidance, drive messaging and narrative development, own PR strategy and execution for key moments, and deliver results in support of business priorities. The role will consistently work with a range of media contacts across consumer and national outlets.<br><br>This role can be located in Seattle, WA, Arlington, VA or New York City.<br><br>The successful candidate is a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate PR recommendations and plans to both peers and executives, drive collaborative decisions, build relationships internally and externally, and deliver results. She/he is also comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing a number of disciplines, and is an expert in clearly communicating complex programs and looking around corners. The ideal candidate has strong PR experience, a track record of successfully managing proactive announcements with coverage results, and media relations expertise in both pitching proactive stories on a national scale and managing issues and reactive storylines.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Lead PR strategy and programs related to emerging products and services</li><li> Provide counsel to executives and cross-functional teams on PR approaches and messaging</li><li> Manage and guide proactive PR announcements, launches, and narratives</li><li> Develop and manage relationships with a range of top-tier media contacts</li><li> Write and evolve messaging and talking points in a thoughtful and strategic way</li><li> Build, guide, and execute PR plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals</li><li> Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively</li><li> Help manage a third-party agency to support PR activities</li><li> Willingness to represent Amazon as a spokesperson<br><br></li></ul><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience</li><li> Bachelor's degree<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Consumer and/or B2B public relations experience</li><li> Ability to successfully managing proactive announcements with coverage results</li><li> Media relations expertise in both pitching proactive stories on a national scale and managing reactive storylines<br><br></li></ul>Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.<br><br>Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
