Legal Assistant - Patent Prosecution (Remote, Pacific Time Zone) Remote (preferably based in Orange County, CA) Full-time / Contract | $40–$60/hr DOE A newly established law firm is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Legal Assistant in Patent Prosecution to join our growing team. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to help build the firm from the ground up. What You’ll Do • Prepare and file U.S. patent application documents based on foreign associate instructions. • Handle filings through USPTO Patent Center — including applications, office actions, IDS, and assignments. • Report filings and USPTO correspondence with clear deadlines and next steps. • Manage docketing, track deadlines, and maintain accurate case records. • Organize and maintain up-to-date electronic case files. • Track each matter from filing through allowance and issuance. What We’re Looking For • 5+ years of hands-on experience in U.S. patent prosecution support. • Strong familiarity with USPTO procedures and timelines. • Proficiency with Patent Center (EFS-Web/PAIR a plus). • Solid command of Word, Excel, Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. • Professional communication with attorneys, clients, and USPTO staff. • Must be able to work standard U.S. Pacific Time hours. • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
