Part-Time (Seasonal) Admission Application Reader Apply now Job no: 513858 Position type: Interim Location: New York Categories: Remote, Admissions Job Summary / Basic Function: Teachers College, Columbia University seeks knowledgeable, reliable, and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Part-Time (Seasonal) Admission Application Readers for the 2026 application cycle. The individuals in this role will review applications from approximately December 2025 to June 2026 for various graduate degree programs, as needed. Part-Time (Seasonal) Admission Application Readers will report to assigned staff members of the Office of Admission and work under the additional supervision and guidance of relevant program faculty. Part-time (Seasonal) Admission Application Readers will be required to: • Participate in various training sessions via Zoom • Review approximately 300-600 files across the entire application cycle by target deadlines using an online application system, Technolutions Slate, for an estimated total of 15-30 hours per week (depending on individual reading assignments) • Review application files in accordance with a designated rubric • Thoughtfully apply evaluation protocols and knowledge of the program • Exercise discretion, sensitivity, and professional judgment when managing highly confidential information about applicants and process; candidates must sign a confidentiality agreement • Communicate with their assigned supervisor about application reading progress on a weekly basis and as requested Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Ability to work independently • Ability to meet deadlines • Attention to detail • Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information • Ability to demonstrate self-direction, motivation and a sense of urgency to achieve goals Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in the selection and evaluation process related to the admission of students to higher education institutions. • Experience using Technolutions Slate.
