Healthcare graphic designer

Job Title: Graphic Designer – Applied Sciences Team Duration: 6-Month Contract (Likely to Extend) Part-Time: 20–25 Hours per Week (Flexible Hours) Location: Remote – Open to Any Time Zone This position offers flexible working hours, ideal for an experienced designer who may also be engaged in freelance work, provided they are available a few times a week for virtual meetings (typically Monday–Thursday). Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our dynamic Applied Sciences team. This role is a supporting, behind-the-scenes position, working closely with Product Owners and Project Managers throughout various project life cycles. The ideal candidate will bring strong design expertise, healthcare familiarity, and the ability to create visually compelling, interactive resources that drive engagement and clarity for healthcare providers. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Project Managers to execute design deliverables across multiple healthcare-related projects. • Create interactive tools and educational materials (e.g., checklists, care journey roadmaps, and educational fliers) for use by healthcare providers and systems. • Work within Smartsheet to review project needs and manage design-related tasks. • Utilize a design tracker to organize and prioritize project assignments. • Develop interactive resources that incorporate clickable links and navigable features. • Use Visio or similar tools for process mapping and care journey visualization. • Attend internal team meetings (virtual) to gather design requirements and align on deliverables. • Ensure all design outputs are ready for client content review prior to release. • Support multiple projects simultaneously, focusing primarily on the design components rather than full project lifecycle management. Required Skills and Qualifications • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign). • Experience with Visio or equivalent tools for process and journey mapping. • Portfolio of design work required (please include link or samples). • 2+ years of professional design experience (5+ years preferred). • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Design, Communications, or related field preferred. • Familiarity with healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries highly desirable. • Strong attention to detail, visual storytelling, and the ability to translate complex healthcare processes into clear, engaging visuals. • Self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills, capable of managing multiple priorities independently. Preferred Attributes • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project environments. • Understanding of healthcare provider workflows and pharma industry expectations. • Demonstrated ability to create content that aligns with both client branding and healthcare communication standards.
