[Remote] Data Center Project Manager (Cabling Expertise Required) - with up to 50% travel to different data center locations in the US

They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Center Project Manager to lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of data center infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center environments and strong project management skills to ensure operational excellence. Responsibilities • Plan, manage, and deliver data center projects including new builds, expansions, migrations, and decommissions. • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders. • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against milestones. • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. • Ensure resource availability and allocation, resolving bottlenecks or conflicts as they arise. • Manage risks, issues, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle. • Ensure compliance with data center standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide clear updates to stakeholders and leadership. • Oversee installation of critical systems, including power, cooling, cabling, and IT hardware. • Facilitate handoffs to operations teams and ensure smooth transitions from project phase to production support. • Maintain comprehensive project documentation. Skills • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years managing data center or infrastructure-related projects. • Strong knowledge of data center components, including servers, storage, networking, cabling, HVAC, power systems, and security. • Proven experience managing complex, multi-site infrastructure projects. • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Trello). • Familiarity with ITIL, PMI, or Agile methodologies. • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification. • Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments (e.g., AWS, Azure). • Background in facilities engineering, networking, or systems administration is a plus.
