Solutions Director, IT Asset Management

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive ITAM strategy that aligns with business goals and drives operational efficiency, cost optimization, and compliance.

  • Lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, ensuring full lifecycle visibility, entitlement enforcement, and software license optimization.

  • Align ITAM strategies with ITSM processes, including Incident, Change, and Configuration Management, for end-to-end workflow consistency and service quality.

  • Provide leadership in vendor governance frameworks, sourcing strategies, and long-range supply chain planning.

  • Drive business development by partnering with sales and executive leadership to develop proposals and pitch ITAM services to clients, with a strong emphasis on ServiceNow-based solutions.

Operational Enablement

  • Oversee global asset sourcing, acquisition, deployment, and recovery across all asset classes (hardware, software, cloud) in collaboration with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain teams.

  • Demonstrate mastery of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) process, including demand planning, requisitioning, PO management, invoice reconciliation, and asset receiving, to support timely and compliant procurement cycles.

  • Manage supplier performance and risk through structured vendor management practices, including contract execution, SLA enforcement, and audit readiness.

  • Ensure robust IT logistics execution, including import/export compliance, third-party logistics coordination, customs handling, and international warehousing across APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and North America.

  • Define and enforce asset policies, standards, and classification structures that support clean CMDB alignment, asset lifecycle optimization, and audit traceability.

  • Leverage automation and analytics tools within ServiceNow and supporting platforms to improve data accuracy, cost transparency, and lifecycle forecasting.

  • Support ESG and sustainability initiatives through e-waste programs, asset reuse strategies, and responsible sourcing practices.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Implement robust controls to mitigate risk across the asset lifecycle, including license non-compliance, asset loss, over-procurement, and shadow IT.

  • Lead audit response efforts for software licensing, contractual obligations, and regulatory compliance.

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure supplier engagements and IT asset use adhere to international trade, privacy, and risk standards.

  • Maintain accurate asset records in alignment with internal audit, SOX, and financial reporting requirements.

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing ITAM delivery team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for asset management programs.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, offering insights on ITAM trends, tooling, and operational impact on cost, risk, and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. 15+ years of IT industry experience is acceptable in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT Asset Management, including 5+ years in leadership roles.

  • Proven experience with ServiceNow HAM/SAM best practices and implementation and a strong grasp of the ServiceNow platform and ecosystem.

  • Preferred certifications: ServiceNow HAM/SAM, CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager), CHAMP, ITIL v3/v4, or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated success in selling ITAM services and managed solutions to enterprise customers.

  • Deep understanding of ITSM and ITAM processes, demand planning and procurement operations, logistics, and S2P in global environments.

  • Experience with software audit defense, vendor contract negotiation, and IT governance frameworks.

  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Strong analytical mindset, with a focus on strategic metrics, data integrity, and digital transformation.

Salary Range

$153,520.00 - $242,400.00 USD (Salary)
