Engineer III-Security Engineering (Specialist Engineer-Security Engineering)

About the position Responsibilities • Responsible for software development and maintaining Front-End Web applications using Grails web framework, JavaScript, and Java. • Analyze and fix problems reported by Web application users. • Eliminate vulnerabilities discovered in maintained applications, and perform regression testing. • Develop various services for Verizon CIS (Corporate Information Security) related to data curation and transformation. • Enhance and support existing services, using the AWS (Amazon Web Services) ecosystem technologies such as Lambda, Step functions, Glue framework for ETL, Redshift Database, Athena, CloudFormation and S3. • Support data scientists with Data Engineering tasks; implement custom Extract-Transform-Load processes providing data for various Machine Learning projects using Python, and Apache Spark technology framework to support large, distributed, efficient data transformations for real-time data processing. • Implement operational dashboards to monitor system stability, performance, and Machine Learning model accuracy using Grafana. • Maintain DevOps procedures, automated testing, and automated application deployment to support the development team in their daily activities using AWS CloudFormation, Jenkins, and Git repository. • Use SQL and MongoDB. Requirements • Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • 1 year of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a related/similar position. • Experience performing software development using Grails web framework, JavaScript, and Java. • Experience with Apache Spark technology framework to support large, distributed, efficient data transformations for real-time data processing. • Experience using SQL and MongoDB.
