Support K-12 education initiatives at the Whitney Museum through program preparation, research, and collaboration with educators. Your Role: Key responsibilities include: • Helping prepare for programs by collecting and organizing art supplies • Working with the Museum’s Freelance Educators to assist with K-12 school groups visiting the museum for guided tours and virtual programs • Assisting School Programs staff in small-scale research projects, including data collection and analysis • Conducting research for new exhibitions and creating resource packets for Freelance Educators • Assisting Educator Programs staff with professional development workshops and other School Program events • Assisting in managing the School Programs calendar, website, and mailing list About You: The ideal candidate will possess the following: • Organized and outgoing, with an interest in working with school and teacher audiences • Experience working with children of different ages and a desire to learn more about inquiry-based teaching in the galleries is a plus • Currently enrolled undergraduate students in accredited academic year programs are eligible • Must have completed a minimum of one year’s worth of academic coursework; undergraduate freshmen are not eligible • Demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, but students in all majors are encouraged to apply • Previous museum experience is not required Compensation & Benefits: • Paid stipend of $3,000 for the internship • Access to museum events and programs • Networking opportunities with museum professionals • Hybrid work environment with some onsite work Training & Development: • Participation in professional development workshops • Opportunities to collaborate with experienced museum educators and staff • Exposure to research and program development in a leading art institution Career Progression: • Experience gained may support future roles in museum education, arts administration, or related fields • Opportunity to build a professional network within the museum and education sectors How to Apply: Submit your application as instructed on the Whitney Museum’s Internships page.
