Our team is committed to delivering accuracy, transparency, and efficiency to every client, from small practices to large healthcare organizations. --- Position Overview We are seeking a Medical Biller with strong experience in podiatry billing(4+ years experience), 4+ years of wound care billing and Athena and eClinical EMR to join our remote team. In this role, you will handle end-to-end billing processes, resolve discrepancies, and serve as a key point of contact for clients, insurance companies, and internal team members. You will play an essential role in ensuring timely claims submissions, accurate payment postings, and successful resolution of billing issues. --- Key Responsibilities Specialized Billing: Manage and process medical bills, with a strong emphasis on podiatry billing codes, procedures, and insurance requirements. EMR Expertise: Utilize Athena (and other EHR/EMR systems such as eCW) to review, update, and submit claims efficiently. Claims Management: Verify insurance coverage, submit claims, follow up on denials or rejections, and post payments accurately. Compliance & Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding, insurance policies, and industry regulations (including CMS guidelines) to ensure compliant billing practices. Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison between clients, insurance companies, and internal teams to address billing inquiries, resolve account discrepancies, and provide timely updates. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows, reduce errors, and enhance revenue cycle efficiency. --- Qualifications 4 + Years Podiatry Billing Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in podiatry wound care billing (CPT, ICD-10 coding specific to foot and ankle). 4+ Years Wound Care Billing: Demonstrated proficiency in wound care billing (CPT, ICD-10 coding specific to foot and ankle) Medical Coding & Terminology: Solid understanding of medical coding principles (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and relevant terminology. Billing Software Proficiency: Strong experience with Athena and eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred; ability to adapt quickly to new billing software systems. Insurance Verification & Claims Processing: In-depth knowledge of private, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance processes, and familiarity with payer guidelines. Attention to Detail: Proven track record of accuracy in data entry, coding, and billing procedures, ensuring minimal claim denials. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, insurance representatives, and team members. Team-Oriented & Independent: Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, while also collaborating effectively within a team.
