About the position
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive financial analysis and complex fiscal management for pre and post-award sponsored projects administration.
• Manage significant volume of transactions related to multiple funding sources including federal, state, and private grants.
• Establish new procedures and revise existing ones to meet changing needs in financial management.
• Create intricate internal reporting systems and tools for forecasting financial planning.
• Serve as the department contact for assigned Division Chiefs and PIs, facilitating communication and support.
• Analyze complex financial issues and implement creative solutions to administrative challenges.
• Develop and produce complex reports for various funding agencies, projecting multi-year expenditures and outcomes.
Requirements
• Seven years of related experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of related experience.
• Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements related to human or animal subjects in research.
• Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
• Demonstrated competence in spreadsheet and database software for financial management.
• Strong organization and communication skills with a customer service focus.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with UCSD systems (Oracle, Concur, UCPath, etc.)
• Prior Sponsored Research Financial Experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
