Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Software Development Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Providing technical leadership and guidance to IT development staff
• Designing and implementing mid-range software development for web services and applications
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, business analysts, designers, and engineers
• Driving technical innovation and excellence, with a focus on industry best practices and trends
• Applying programming best practices to web applications and services
• Providing technical guidance, direction, and decisions to teams developing custom and off-the-shelf web applications and services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Java Development Environment (JDE) experience
• Technical leadership experience, with a focus on IT staff management
• Application Programming Interface (API) system/REST development experience
• Web services (mid-range) development experience

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Airline industry experience
• Experience with Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration (Github Actions, Azure DevOps, Nexus, TDD, Automated regression testing)
• Experience with hw/sw resource management, cloud system implementation, microservices, and Apache frameworks
• Experience with service enhancements for performance
• Hands-on experience with cloud and containerization
