As an Adjunct Faculty - Medical Coding, you will have the opportunity to:

• Instruct students in medical coding (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II) and develop strategies to promote academic success
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques in our Learning Management System, D2L Brightspace
• Evaluate student performance and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met
• Maintain competency and currency in the teaching field, as well as in teaching strategies, subject delivery modalities, and assessment methods
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA
• Experience teaching college-level courses, preferably online
• Knowledge of medical billing and coding, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level II
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse student learning styles
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in the classroom and beyond

Minimum qualifications include:

• Arizona state residency
• Bachelor's degree in the field of study and Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA, or equivalent combinations of education and experience
