Tacoma Community College, a vibrant and diverse educational institution, is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Office Clerk to support the day-to-day operations of our Student Learning Centers. As an Office Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, administrative support, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our learning centers.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the Writing Tutoring Center (WTC), Math Advising Resource Center (MARC), Business Education Center (BEC), and Supplemental Instruction Program. This is a part-time, hourly position, scheduled to work varied hours during weekday afternoons and early evenings, up to 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to students and instructors, maintaining a professional and friendly environment.
- Assist students with accessing online instructional tools and resources.
- Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional and courteous manner.
- Participate in tutor training, staff meetings, and workshops to improve and retain skills.
- Assist with special projects, such as generating content, creating handouts, and data collection.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Tacoma Community College.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Clerical and customer service experience.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an academic setting.
- Experience working with at-risk or underrepresented students and/or adult learners.
Terms of Employment:
- Part-time, hourly position (up to 16 hours per week).
- $16.00 per hour.
- Flexibility in scheduling required.
