Domestic Violence Advocate (Part time / evening and weekend hours)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Answer crisis hotline calls and provide emotional support for residents.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming facility for all individuals.
• Provide childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years during support group sessions.
• Set up activities for children and ensure a clean play area.
• Assist in shelter operations duties as required, including working every other weekend.
Requirements
• At least two years of college or two years of related work experience.
• Ability to independently make decisions.
• Enjoy working with children.
• Must pass Gateway's background check process.
Nice-to-haves
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
