## Description Job Title: Assessment Designer Location: Remote (Ephriam) Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (until grant funding expires) Job Description: As an Assessment Designer for Snow College, you will be responsible for creating, developing, helping faculty revise, and evaluating assessments[DA1] for the college's competency-based education (CBE) programs. These assessments will be the demonstration the knowledge, skills, and abilities of our CBE learners. You will work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to ensure assessments are valid, reliable, and aligned with Snow College's educational goals. This position will require reviewing and revising currently existing assessments and developing new assessments in priority programs. This position will report to the Director of the Teaching and Learning Center. [DA1]And working with faculty to revise? ## Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). - Proven experience in designing and developing assessments in an educational or corporate setting. - Understanding of competency-based education principles. - Strong understanding of assessment principles, psychometrics, and data analysis. - Proficiency in using assessment development tools and software. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of Canvas, especially the Canvas Classic and New Quizzes engines - Experience with online and digital assessment platforms. - Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices in assessment design. - Certification in educational measurement or related fields. ## Major Responsibilities/Duties - Design and develop high-quality assessments, including quizzes, tests, exams, and performance-based tasks in a competency-based education environment. - Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to ensure assessed content accuracy and relevance. - Utilize various assessment methods and tools to create engaging and effective assessments. - Analyze assessment data to evaluate the effectiveness and make necessary adjustments. - Ensure assessments are aligned with learning objectives and standards. - Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in assessment design and educational measurement. - Provide training and support to educators and staff on assessment development and implementation. ## Additional Information Applications received by 11:59 PM on August 13, 2025, will be eligible for review by the hiring committee.
