Instructional Designer, Learning; Remote
Position: Instructional Designer, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD
Overview
Are you prepared to harness AI's transformative power to elevate student outcomes? 2 Hour Learning has moved beyond simply integrating AI—we've woven it into the core of everything we do. By rebuilding the educational experience from scratch and applying cutting‑edge AI alongside proven learning science, we've dismantled the constraints of conventional schooling. Our results include learners earning 4s and 5s on multiple AP exams, progressing >2 years on MAP assessments, and surpassing their own limits.
If generating extraordinary outcomes at scale excites you, 2 Hour Learning is your destination.
What You Will Be Doing
• Designing and systematically refining an AI-powered learning ecosystem that demonstrably surpasses conventional education, validated by concrete improvements in student performance metrics
• Interacting directly with students via virtual channels to comprehend their educational journeys, obstacles, and achievements, applying these findings to drive ongoing enhancement of the learning ecosystem
• Analyzing learning platform data to identify actionable patterns and create high‑impact academic interventions utilizing AI/ML, learning science, and motivation research best practices
• Fostering a culture of courageous experimentation and data‑informed decision‑making, using analytics to achieve breakthrough improvements in student growth outcomes
• Collaborating with platform engineering, data science, and design teams to convert academic insights and student input into fluid product improvements
What You Won’t Be Doing
• Wrapping traditional education in an AI veneer. This role isn't about digitizing classroom teaching—we're reimagining learning at its foundation.
• Working with data in a vacuum. You’ll need to consistently interact with K‑12 students, treating their perspectives as critical feedback.
• Seeking permission to innovate. You’ll advance an ambitious vision and mobilize others through demonstrable, data‑backed outcomes.
• Relying on established methods. You’ll have freedom to test novel strategies for motivation, evaluation, and instruction.
• Viewing AI with apprehension. Here, you’ll embrace AI as a powerful instrument to transform education, not a risk to be managed.
