About the position Arbol is looking for a skilled Claims Examiner to join our growing property casualty claims team at Lilypad Insurance Managers. The ideal candidate for this role has experience handling residential and commercial property claims with expertise, empathy, and efficiency. You'll work in a dynamic environment that blends traditional claims excellence with technology, including AI-driven tools, giving you the resources to deliver outstanding outcomes for policyholders when it matters most. Responsibilities • Claims Handling: Apply strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills to independently and proactively manage property claims, evaluate complex facts, make sound decisions within your authority, and recommend fair, well‑supported settlement values. • Customer Experience: Deliver compassionate, timely, and solutions‑focused support during moments of loss, ensuring customers feel heard, informed, and genuinely cared for when they need us most. • New Technology and AI: Leverage and adapt emerging technologies, including AI‑driven tools and modern claims software, to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance the overall claims experience. • Adaptability: Quickly adjust to new situations, evolving claim scenarios, and emerging technologies - embracing change, learning new tools, and applying them effectively to improve claim outcomes and workflow efficiency. • CAT Claims Support: During high CAT claim volumes, step in to manage new, low-complexity claims. • End-to-End Resolution: Handle claims from inception to resolution, investigating loss circumstances, applying coverage accurately, and working within assigned authority levels. • Coverage Expertise: Review and determine proper policy coverages, resolving claims per company guidelines. • Fraud Detection: Identify fraud and recovery opportunities. • Vendor Management: Engage and monitor the work of outside vendors in the claim adjustment process. • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and unfair Claim Practice Acts. Requirements • At least 1-3 years of homeowner and/or commercial property. Liability claims experience is also a plus. • Applicable state adjuster license where required and in good standing. • Functional knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, and techniques, including coverage issues and product line knowledge. • Knowledge of law and insurance regulations in various jurisdictions. • Advanced experience adopting and using new software and tools • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Flexibility: Able to work extended hours due to weather-related events. • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer, with or without reasonable accommodation • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment (e.g., phone, printer, scanner) • Ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods, with or without reasonable accommodation • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and reach within an office environment • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10–15 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, files), with or without reasonable accommodation • Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as typing or data entry • Ability to maintain focus and attention while performing detailed tasks Nice-to-haves • Xactimate and/or Cotality experience: Highly preferred.
