Senior Claims Adjuster, Auto Insurance
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Claims Adjuster specializing in Auto Insurance to join their growing team. This hybrid role offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-office collaboration, based in **Baltimore, Maryland, US**. You will be responsible for managing complex auto insurance claims from initial investigation through to settlement, ensuring fair and timely resolutions for policyholders while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: Investigate, evaluate, and settle complex auto insurance claims, including bodily injury, property damage, and total loss scenarios. Conduct thorough claim investigations, including reviewing police reports, witness statements, medical records, and repair estimates. Determine coverage liability and assess damages based on policy provisions and evidence gathered. Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, repair facilities, and other relevant parties throughout the claims process. Negotiate settlements within established authority limits, striving for amicable resolutions. Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documenting all activities, decisions, and communications. Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation. Stay current with industry best practices, relevant laws, and regulations affecting auto insurance claims. Collaborate with internal legal counsel and external medical providers as needed. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior claims adjusters. This position requires a deep understanding of auto insurance principles, strong analytical skills, and exceptional customer service abilities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent negotiation skills, and be capable of working independently while also contributing to a team environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in auto insurance claims adjusting. State-specific adjuster licenses as required. Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications. Strong knowledge of automobile construction, repair processes, and medical terminology. Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a caseload effectively and prioritize tasks. Experience with hybrid work arrangements and maintaining productivity in a flexible setting.
