The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field, complemented by a substantial background in research methodologies, statistical analysis, and precision agriculture. You should be adept at utilizing modern research tools, simulation software, and data analytics platforms. This position requires a leader with a strong vision for the future of agriculture, capable of identifying emerging challenges and opportunities, and developing innovative solutions. You will collaborate with a distributed team of scientists, engineers, and agronomists, contributing to the development of new products and services that enhance agricultural productivity and environmental stewardship. Success in this remote role hinges on your ability to independently design, execute, and communicate complex research projects, manage budgets effectively, and foster collaborations across geographical boundaries. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage agronomic research projects focused on crop physiology, soil health, and sustainable farming practices. Develop and execute field and laboratory research trials to evaluate new technologies, crop varieties, and management techniques. Collect, analyze, and interpret complex agronomic data using statistical software and data visualization tools. Develop predictive models and decision support systems for crop management and yield optimization. Stay abreast of the latest research findings, scientific literature, and advancements in agronomy and related fields. Prepare detailed research reports, scientific publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, product development, and field operations. Provide technical expertise and guidance on agronomic issues to support product development and client services. Contribute to the development of intellectual property and grant proposals. Foster partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry stakeholders. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a closely related agricultural discipline. Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate research experience in agronomy or a related field. Proven expertise in experimental design, statistical analysis (e.g., R, SAS), and data management. Experience with precision agriculture technologies, remote sensing, and GIS software. Strong understanding of crop physiology, soil science, plant pathology, and entomology. Demonstrated ability to lead research projects independently and manage remote teams. Excellent scientific writing and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant agricultural software and modeling tools. Ability to interpret and apply research findings to practical agricultural challenges.
