Job Description: Position Overview The Senior Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and curating high-impact training solutions using adult learning principles and a learner-centered approach. This role evaluates and ensures training content aligns with strategic priorities, learning objectives, and quality standards. The Senior Training Specialist serves as an informal leader and trusted partner within the Training & Quality team and across the business, modeling strong collaboration, communication, and professionalism. The role actively coaches and mentor’s peers, supports continuous improvement, and contributes to both Training and Knowledge Management initiatives. Experience or interest in technical writing and content governance is an asset. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and curate learner-centric programs using a variety of media and blended learning methods (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led sessions, job aids, videos, etc.). Facilitate and deliver engaging training experiences, incorporating assessment, measurement, and evaluation of effectiveness. Manage training initiatives end to end, applying project management best practices and adhering to design and facilitation standards. Collaborate with functional areas as a project liaison or manager for training-related programs, communicating with leadership and key stakeholders to recommend solutions that align with business goals and demonstrate direct impact. Support learning platforms, including the Learning Management System (LMS), and assist with learning operations and coordination as needed. Contribute to and support the Operations Knowledge Management System (KMS), including content creation, review, curation, and ongoing maintenance; apply strong technical writing practices as appropriate. Function as an informal leader within the team by coaching, mentoring, and supporting peer development, in collaboration with management. Ensure quality and consistency by reviewing training and knowledge materials, providing constructive feedback, and conducting classroom or facilitation observations. Apply data and insights to drive continuous improvement across programs, content, and learner experience. Leverage and promote responsible use of AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and other emerging applications) to enhance training design efficiency, accelerate content creation, and improve learning outcomes. Skills and Abilities: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, guide, and build trust across audiences. Strong expertise in instructional design, development, and facilitation within a corporate learning environment. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with peers, stakeholders, and leaders. Deep understanding of adult learning theory and its practical application. Proven end-to-end project and program management skills. Detail-oriented, proactive problem solver who anticipates challenges and drives solutions. Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently while maintaining high-quality outcomes. Demonstrated informal leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and positive role modeling. Data-driven mindset with experience using insights to inform decisions and continuous improvement. Experience supporting change initiatives and driving adoption with a growth mindset. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrated capability to utilize and encourage adoption of AI tools (including Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and similar platforms) to improve instructional design, technical writing, and learning effectiveness, while applying sound judgment, quality controls, and change‑adoption practices. Advanced knowledge of learning technologies (e.g., Articulate). Education Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree in related business major or equivalent experience Required. Experience 5+ years of training experience recommended, in life & annuity industry, and significant formal corporate training environment: Designing, developing, and delivering training. Experience in technical writing is a plus. Experience in the life and annuity industry preferred. Experience in technical writing, content governance, or knowledge management is a plus.
